The COVID pandemic has persisted for more than two years worldwide. Currently, the number of people impacted is still rising. We Buddhist practitioners eating vegetarian meals, reciting Buddhist scriptures, and accumulating merits and virtues daily are truly free from any worries. In case of the worst scenario, even if unfortunately we are infected, we could recover quickly by performing the five Golden Buddhist Practices of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, i.e., making vows, reciting Buddhist scriptures, performing life liberation, reading Buddhism in Plain Terms, and repenting to eliminate our karma to restore our health, and eventually change our destiny and fate!

In 2022, my elder son is 9 years old, entering the age of his predestined 369 calamity. At the end of January 2022, a pupil in his class was found COVID-19 positive. After he came home from school, he began coughing, so he stayed at home for a few days.

In the morning of February 2, I found his hand was warmer than normal, so I measured his body temperature: 38.1 degrees Celsius. I realized that he might be infected by COVID-19. I was scared. I made a great vow to Guan Yin Bodhisattva that I would like to transfer my merits and virtues to my elder son – all the merits and virtues of the one month on-line group study of Buddhism in Plain Terms in January 2022. I also prayed Guan Yin Bodhisattva for letting me to have more time to recite Buddhist scriptures to eliminate his karma and to accumulate more merits and virtues. After that, I started my daily recitation of Buddhist scriptures and helped my two sons with their homework. My elder son’s temperature climbed up to 38.7 degrees Celsius at noon. After waking up from a nap, his temperature dropped and he seemed to be happy. I have been reciting Buddhist scriptures while accompanying him the whole afternoon, and I did not give him any medication.

My husband came home from work and conducted a nucleic acid test, and the result showed my elder son COVID negative, which finally eased my mind.

In 2022, my younger son is 6 and a half years old, also entering the age of his predestined 369 calamity. In the evening of February 3, I checked the body temperatures for both of my sons. The younger one was 37.4 degrees Celsius. I had a vague feeling that something went wrong.

In the morning of February 4, the younger son’s temperature reached 39 degrees Celsius and he took some antipyretic at 10:00 a.m. At noon before his nap, his temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius. I gave him some medication to combat the fever, but the medicine did not work. I thought that he was just having a common cold and I did not think of anything else.

My younger son looked exhausted lying in bed, and the fever caused his face to flush. He cried and told me that his arm was painful. I thought it was muscle pains, which was one of the symptoms of coronavirus. I was a little bit scared. I immediately recited the Great Compassion Mantra 49 times, praying to Guan Yin Bodhisattva to let his temperature drop to normal as soon as possible. At about 4:30 p.m, he was tested COVID positive by my husband.

My younger son was unfortunately infected with COVID virus! He kept on repeating: “Everything is big. I’m going to make them smaller.” Not too long after I recited 49 times of Great Compassion Mantra, he began to sweat, his temperature dropped to around 37 degrees Celsius and he stopped complaining about muscle pains. I asked him if everything was still big. He said, no, not anymore. The Great Compassion Mantra took effect. It was really a magic! I knew that he had been blessed by Guan Yin Bodhisattva.

We are grateful for the merciful blessings of Guan Yin Bodhisattva!

On the evening of that day (Feb. 4 ), I made a great vow to Guan Yin Bodhisattva: to recite 7 “Little Houses” (a combination of Sutras and Mantras) to help my younger son’s karmic creditors, to release 49 turtles and 500 fish for him.

On the evening of February 5, I took his temperature. It was more than 36 degrees Celsius, back to normal level.

On February 6, I just finished reciting the first sheet of Little House for my younger son, while the life liberation was not even started, but his health was already improved greatly. He was very well-behaved, stayed in the isolation room with his computer on hand quietly.

On February 8, a fellow practitioner from China helped me to accomplish my vow of life liberation. On February 15, I finished recitation of all the 7 Little houses and paid to his creditors. In the evening, my younger son took another nucleic acid test, and the result became negative!

Many thanks to Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Lu! Thanks to the fellow practitioner who helped me perform life liberation!

In retrospect, when my elder son coughed and got a fever, it could have been the symptoms of the coronavirus. Since I did not know how to use the COVID test kit, I didn’t give my elder son a nucleic acid test at the very beginning. After I transferred the merits and virtues to him, under the blessings of Bodhisattva, he recovered promptly that his fever went away and the nucleic acid test was negative. Then, we were off guard. None of our family members took any safety measures at home.

My elder son’s instant recovery took me to think that he just caught a common cold. Thus, when my younger son was infected by the coronavirus from his elder brother, I thought the younger one merely caught a common cold, albeit his temperature reached 39 degrees Celsius. Therefore, when my younger son was tested COVID positive, I was very surprised and bewildered.

This incident prompted me to realize the merits and virtues of the on-line group Buddhism study are fabulous. In emergency, we can use the merits and virtues to save lives. Here, I take this opportunity to remind my dear fellow Buddhism practitioners, whenever possible, we should participate in group Buddhism study as possible as we can to accumulate more merits and virtues for the future.

It is well known that the coronavirus is highly contagious. My husband and I who both have had close contact with our two sons without any protection stayed safe. Why? The reason, I believe, is fairly simple. I vowed to be a vegetarian lifelong. Bodhisattva always blesses me. As to my husband, although he is not a formal Buddhism practitioner yet, he has been always helping me to propagate the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and help me to fulfil my vows. For example, he often goes to Guan Yin Hall to help me distribute the pamphlets of Citta Dharma and places the Buddhism leaflets in front of supermarkets. He cooks vegetarian meals for me at home, and my family eats almost all vegetarian diets now. He was for sure blessed by Bodhisattvas, as well. During that period, he was actually the major caregiver for our two sons.

He once suspected that he might also had been infected by coronavirus, but the test result was negative. Only my husband is not affected, would I be able to concentrate on practicing Buddhism. Therefore, I appreciated all of my husband’s efforts for taking care of the children. Gratitude to the mercy and blessings of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, kindly allow my children and my family smoothly pass the calamities.

Previously, once the younger son got a fever, it would take him several days to recover. This time, although he was unfortunately infected with the terrible coronavirus, he was able to recover so quickly. How marvelous! The four Golden Buddhist Practices are so efficacious! I am extremely grateful to Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Lu for your merciful blessings.

To be safe, I also prayed Guan Yin Bodhisattva to help my younger son eliminate the possible residual virus in his body and bless him for a complete recovery.

We are very lucky to have the opportunity to practice Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. We are grateful to have Master Lu to guide us all the way to cultivate our minds. It is really true that one person practises Buddhism, the whole family will be benefited!

Through my presentation, I hope that I am able to help more and more sentient beings practise Buddhism, and recite the sutra and mantra. Help yourself and bless your family! Hope everyone can be enlightened through practising Buddhism, stay away from misfortune and be happy!

My deepest gratitude to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva!

My deepest gratitude to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas from ten directions and three periods of time!

My deepest gratitude to the Dharma protectors!

My deepest gratitude to the selfless and altruistic Master Jun Hong Lu!

If there is anything that is not rational or in line with the truth in the presentation, I would like to seek forgiveness from the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, Dharma protectors, and Master Jun Hong Lu.

I, also like to seek forgiveness from my fellow Buddhist practitioners.

I, not my fellow practitioners, will be responsible for my own karma!
