Gratitude to fellow Buddhist practitioners!

Hello, fellow Buddhist practitioners!

I would like to share the miraculous events that occurred after I started practicing Buddhism and reciting scriptures. I hope my true story will inspire more sentient beings to take up Buddhist scriptures, practicing Buddhism, and find relief from suffering.

Previously, I shared how my elder sister and I helped our mother make vows, recite Buddhist scriptures, and release captive animals. As a result, my mother’s severe stomach illness improved significantly. This gave her more faith, and she started reciting the Great Compassion Mantra and the Heart Sutra 7 times each day, gradually increasing the number to 21-40 times daily.

However, once her health improved, my mother returned to farm work and neglected her Buddhist practices. In 2023, her karma out-broke again, causing her to vomit and develop cataracts, which impaired her vision.

Remembering my vow to share our story, which I had delayed for over a year, I repented to the Bodhisattva and resolved to fulfill my vow promptly. My mother also vowed to adopt a vegetarian diet.

After being diagnosed with cataracts, my mother sought medical treatment, using eye drops, taking medication, and even being hospitalized, but to no avail. Eventually, doctors suggested surgery. My sister felt that surgery would be too harsh for someone of her age and might not even restore her vision. So, she brought our mother to her home and persuaded our mother to recite Little Houses. My mother agreed, and I vowed to release 20,000 fish and 108 turtles on her behalf.

Gradually, my mother’s condition started to improve. One day, I called her, and she said she was working again. I advised her to refrain from labor and focus on reciting Buddhist scriptures to eliminate karma and accumulate merits and virtues. The call was abruptly cut off, and my mother thought I was upset with her. She immediately prayed to the Bodhisattva, promising to diligently recite Buddhist scriptures and Little Houses.

Now, my mother wakes up at four o’clock every morning to recite Buddhist scriptures. On the morning of Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s ordination day (the nineteenth day of the ninth lunar month), my mother opened the door and saw a flashing white light in the sky. She said she had never seen such a magnificent sight. She quickly called my sister, who told her, “It must be Guan Yin Bodhisattva blessing you!” From that morning on, my mother’s vision suddenly became clear, and her cataracts completely disappeared! After reciting >40 Little Houses for her karmic creditors, her stomach ailment was also cured. We are deeply grateful to the compassionate Bodhisattva!

Now, my mother is also studying the Buddhism in Plain Terms. Despite being illiterate before, she can now understand it and reads it every day. This is all due to the Bodhisattva’s blessings!

Now, in our family, besides my sister, mother, and me, my father has also started practicing Buddhism and reciting Buddhist scriptures. He enjoys watching Master Lu’s videos and reading His books. My father said, “We are in our eighties now. If we hadn’t practiced Buddhism, we might have developed dementia by now.”

Gratitude to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva!

Gratitude to the selfless, altruistic, and benevolent Master Lu!

If there is anything in this presentation that is not in accordance with the Dharma and in accordance with the principles, I pray for forgiveness from Namo Sakyamuni Buddha, the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and Dharma protectors.

I would appreciate my fellow Buddhist practitioners’ critique and correction! I, not my fellow Buddhist practitioners, will be responsible for my own karma!

Buddhist practitioner: Zhang

Posted: 2024-02-0113:45

Translator: Frank

Published: 2024-07-12

Source: Excerpt from Master Jun hong Lu’s blog (No. 954) 2024-04-12

Statement by translator

The story was translated from Chinese into English by meaning, not word by word.
