Introduction
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder mainly characterized by recurrent seizures that affect the entire population diagnosed with the condition. Currently, there is no cure for the disease and a significant number of patients have been deemed to have treatment-resistant epilepsy [1]. Epilepsy is understood this way in Western medicine. The Chinese view epilepsy as a result of inadequate brain blood supply. However, according to Master Lu, epilepsy is the most typical spiritual disease. Patients are possessed by “spirit(s)” (respectful name of “ghost(s)”) who collect karmic debts from them. There is no cure for epilepsy in Western medicine or Chinese medicine, but there is a cure in Dharma. The following case illustrates how a mother cured her epileptic baby by practicing Buddhism.

I am Meihao. Both my husband and I grew up in the countryside, and both families raised animals. In my family, we raised pigs, chickens, ducks, and geese. With my own hands, I killed chickens and fish. I have broken all five precepts of not killing, not stealing, not engaging in sexual misconduct, not lying, and not consuming intoxicants before marriage. I was extremely greedy, hateful, and delusional, with a particularly grave hatred. My in-laws’ family, including my husband, always treated me badly, and I complained about everything they did. Occasionally, I quarreled with my husband during pregnancy, which resulted in an unpleasant mood and sometimes depressed thoughts.
My daughter was born healthy. However, one month after her first birthday, she started to display some abnormal behaviors such as anorexia and crying all night with piercing sounds. It was difficult to appease her. As a mother with hypothyroidism, I worried about her intelligence.
Four months after her first birthday, she was unable to laugh, could not straighten her neck, could not turn over, and had convulsions. The convulsions occurred every day, and the major ones lasted for a few minutes, while the minor ones continued unabated. Her diagnosis report indicated epilepsy. Depakine was prescribed to her at the age of 5-6 months to help control her symptoms.
Her development couldn’t keep up with children her age as she grew up. Every day I was in pain and desperately searching the Internet for treatment information. On August 18, 2018, I became a Buddhist practitioner after contacting a Buddhist practitioner on Qzone (a social networking site).
In order for my daughter to be saved, every minute was crucial. I had to learn how to recite the Buddhist scriptures in the shortest time. Ten days later, I started reciting The Little House. Soon after that, I made 3 vows by offering Guan Yin Bodhisattva incense within my heart:
1. Become a lifelong vegetarian, never kill beings;
2. Recite 500 Little Houses to pay my child’s karmic creditors within 1 year;
3. Liberate 1,000 fish within 1 year;
Three months later, I set up a Buddha altar at my home.
After I practiced the three golden Buddhist practices, her body and intelligence improved dramatically, and her epilepsy symptoms gradually diminished. She was able to turn, crawl, stand, and speak. After reciting Buddhist scriptures for one month, I stopped massage therapy when she was 8 months old. At 10 months, she was able to call her parents; at 14 months, she recognized all the playing cards and was talking. When she was 1.5 years old, I stopped giving her Depakine without consulting her doctor. She is now 3.5 years old, smart, active, and cute. Currently, she attends kindergarten like any other healthy child.

大家好，我是美好同修。我分享的题目是：三大法宝救度了我们母女三人，使我重新拥有美好的生活
我和先生都是在农村出生长大，家里都养过动物。我家养过猪、鸡、鸭、鹅，而且我还亲手杀过鸡，也杀过鱼。可以说，结婚前，五戒的杀盗淫妄酒我都犯过。我的贪瞋痴很严重，尤其是瞋恨心特别大。我总是抱怨婆家的一切，包括先生，抱怨他们待我不好。我怀孕时，偶尔与丈夫吵架，导致心情不好，有时候精神会处于忧郁状态。
2018年1月份，小女儿汪出生了，安徽。孩子刚出生时，看上去非常健康漂亮，但十几天后，足跟血检测结果不正常。医生让我们做一次复诊。出了月子后，孩子开始出现异常——拒奶，整夜哭闹。
我学佛念经是源于我的小女儿。我自己患有甲减症。患甲减症的母亲，极有可能生下终生智力低下的孩子，所以我每天都在担心。我的担心也许真的会成为事实，因为孩子越来越异常。孩子4个多月了，不会笑，脖子直不起来，也不会翻身，并且开始抽筋。我们带着孩子从县级医院看到省级医院，在各医院做了多项的检查，最后确诊孩子为脑电图异常癫痫。我的世界一下子就全部黑暗了！孩子的病真的跟脑部有关系！发展下去，会不会智力低下或者脑瘫呢？孩子的癫痫每天都会发作，根本无法控制。大抽起来好几分钟，小抽不断。孩子痛苦，我也痛苦不堪。随着孩子一天天长大，她各方面发育都无法与同龄孩子相比。我每天都陷入痛苦之中，在网上拼命搜索治疗信息。
也是佛菩萨保佑！有一天在网上，我搜索到了学佛信息。我觉得不可思议，也很好奇，于是加了一个群。群里面有一位宝妈让我学佛念经，可是我一笑而过，并没有当回事。就这样，几个月的时间就白白流失而过。
那时候，只要听说哪里有好的专家，我就想带孩子去看病。有一次带着孩子去了河南郑州，看的是脑瘫康复任医生的专家门诊。任医生也说我的孩子有异常尖足、身子软。想依靠人类医学治好孩子的病，看来是不可能了。我又回头去找那位让我学佛念经的宝妈，可她没有回复我。我情急之下就找了QQ空间点赞的师兄——也就是度我进入佛门的师兄。非常感恩这位师兄把我领进了XLFM！
当时的我必须在最短的时间里学会念经。念经十几天后，我就开始念经文组合了。随后没多久我就向观世音菩萨许愿：
1、终生吃全素，终生不杀生；
2、在一年内，帮孩子的要经者念诵500张经文组合，放生1000条鱼。
三个月后，我就在家里设立了佛台。
通过许愿、念经、放生，孩子的身体和智力认知，都发生了巨大变化，癫痫的症状也逐渐得到了控制。虽然还有很多的小问题，仍然需要很长的时间才会得以改善，但是已经向着越来越好的方向在发展。随着孩子病情的好转，给孩子的按摩也停了，孩子就这么顺其自然地长大。渐渐地，从会翻身，到会爬，到会站，到会说话……孩子不仅赶上了，有的方面还超过了同龄的孩子。真的感恩大慈大悲观世音菩萨！女儿现在已经三岁多了，聪明伶俐，活泼可爱。这无疑就是一个奇迹，是XLFM创造的奇迹！
希望通过我的分享，能够广度有缘，广结善缘。让更多人能够对佛法生起欢喜心，让更多有缘人跟着观世音菩萨，跟着师父学佛念经，都能离苦得乐，感恩观世音菩萨！感恩师父！感恩一切！感恩师兄们！
