Sleep is supposed to be an immense blessing, but for me, it was painful to the extreme.
Since 2004, my sleep has been awful. I often lay down for an hour or two before falling asleep, still counting sheep with my eyes closed. However, at that time, I did not care about it too much and did not see a doctor. By 2010, I suffered from severe insomnia, and could only sleep for 2 to 3 hours a night. Sometimes, it was even almost dawn before I fell asleep in a daze, and I could only sleep for 1 to 2 hours. I was dizzy during the day, dozing off at work, and my health was much worse.
My problems became more serious as time went on, often in the second half of the night, I could not easily fall asleep, and suddenly it seemed that someone used electricity to shock me. I screamed and jumped up from the bed shouting: “Don’t touch me, don’t touch me!” I woke up in a cold sweat and my heart beat so fast that it seemed to fall out of my body. After that, I couldn’t sleep anymore. Initially, I suffered an ‘electric’ shock once every ten days approximately, and then it progressed to once every few days.
There were times when I was already asleep and I was so scared that I rolled out of bed and fell under the bed. Another time, I woke up and opened the door of my house at midnight and ran out into the street like a nocturnal wanderer. If my daughter hadn’t run out and pulled me home, I wouldn’t have known what was going on. It was horrible! I often asked Heaven, what have I done wrong to suffer so much? It was like living in hell on earth, worse than death.
In addition, I suffered from panic attacks, rapid heart rate, headaches, a frozen shoulder, cervical spondylitis and other diseases.
I embarked on the arduous road of seeking medical advice. As soon as I heard that the doctor had real skills, I immediately rushed there. I have visited all the big and small hospitals in Guangzhou. I have tried Chinese medicine, Western medicine, neurology, acupuncture, medicine, injections, physical therapy, etc. I have tried all the available treatments, but none have worked. I also had a full body checkup, but the doctor didn’t find any major problems, only insomnia-induced neurosis. I asked the doctor why I suffered an ‘electric shock’ in my dream. The doctor shook his head in disbelief and said I was hallucinating due to a fantasy disorder caused by chronic insomnia.
Was this how I would spend the rest of my life? When my daughter saw that I had lost my appetite for food and drink and my body had become skinny, she took me out on a trip to give me a break. But to my surprise, when I fell asleep on the train or in the hotel, I experienced the same nightmare of ‘electric’ shocks. I felt desperate.
At that time, I often travelled to the temple to worship the Buddha, asking the Bodhisattva to let me get well and recover quickly. Later on, I met several Buddhists from disciplines other than Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. They told me that the ‘electric’ shock was not a hallucination. It was caused by a spirit occupying my body. So, I stopped running to the hospital and started reciting Buddhist sutras to eliminate karma.
Since I did not have an enlightened master to follow, I learned here and there. Although I did many Dharma practices with utter dedication, the results were not very obvious. In 2017, I converted to a certain religion. The master taught me to recite several sutras, etc. There was some improvement and remission of the disease, but it was not completely cured. I still have episodes from time to time.
In 2018, a noble person appeared! One day, while I was working at a Buddhist store across the street from a temple, I met Buddhist practitioner Liang who came to the store to purchase vegetarian food. We felt like old friends at our first meeting. I confided in her about my insomnia and she promptly introduced me to Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. She told me that by practising the three golden Buddhist practices: “making vows”, “reciting Buddhist scriptures”, and “liberating life”, I could definitely get rid of my insomnia. She also said that by reciting the Little Houses (a combination of 4 types of sutras and mantras), I could ascend the spirits in my body to a higher spiritual realm. Unfortunately, I did not have the confidence to practice Buddhism because I had experienced too many failed attempts before. However, I enjoyed listening to Master Lu’s recorded Dharma talks at the Dharma Conventions and reading his articles because I felt that his remarks made sense. I would also follow Buddhist practitioner Liang to often liberate fish. However, I never recited the Little Houses and performed the daily recitation as required by Master Lu’s Dharma teachings.
It was not until 3 years later, on New Year’s Day of 2021, that I took the initiative to ask Buddhist practitioner Liang for some blank Little Houses. Grateful for Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s compassionate blessing for promoting my Buddhist affinity ripe! I was determined to give it a try and myself a chance.
On January 12, 2021, I started reciting Little Houses. I made two vows to Guan Yin Bodhisattva:
1. Recite 21 Little Houses for my own karmic creditor. After that, I still recited 21 sheets per set, set by set (So far, I have recited about 6 sets. )
2. Release 1200 fish, ranging from a few to dozens or hundreds each time (all have been completed so far).
Now, I have made another vow to Guan Yin Bodhisattva to recite 63 Little Houses for my karmic creditor. This would be completed on October 10, 2021.
When I started reciting Buddhist scriptures, because I was not familiar with them, I was slow at narrating them. However, the karmic creditors were in a hurry. On that night of February 4, 2021, when I was asleep I suddenly felt something harassing my body and waking me up. I kept crying out in my heart to Guan Yin Bodhisattva to help me, to help me.
After repaying my karmic creditors for the first set of 21 Little Houses, my sleep improved. Later, I paid for two sets of Little Houses to ascend my aborted children, with 21 Little Houses per set. When the second set was repaid, I felt fairly comfortable, and always wanted to sleep, and the quality of sleep improved significantly. Now, sometimes even if I go to bed at one o’clock late at night I still can sleep until dawn; sometimes I go to bed at ten o’clock at night, wake up at midnight to go to the bathroom, and come back and get back to sleep without any problem; and once I fall asleep at eight o’clock in the evening and sleep until dawn.
In the past six months since I practised Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, I’ve only suffered five or six ‘electric’ shocks in my sleep, something I never even dreamed of in the past. I am full of Dharma joy! It’s amazing that in just six months of practising, I’ve gotten much better from severe insomnia that has plagued me for more than ten years. Now, another half year has passed, and the ‘electric’ shock problem in my sleep has disappeared. Gratitude to Great Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva! Gratitude to Master Lu! I am also grateful to fellow practitioner Liang who introduced me to Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door.
The four golden Buddhist practices of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door are very effective and holy. I am so ashamed. Why didn’t I practice it sooner? I suffered for three more years for inaction, and I almost missed Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door.
I hope that my personal experiences will help to wake up those sentient beings who have an affinity with Buddha but are still wandering outside the door of Buddhism to pick up Buddhist scriptures to recite. Do not wait to make a last-minute frantic effort when disasters fall upon you. Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door is the most holy and convenient Dharma Door in the Age of Dharma Decline. Through making vows, reciting Buddhist scriptures, liberating life, and reading Buddhism in Plain Terms, we can accumulate merits and virtues, eliminate karma and pay off debts that are owed in past lives and in this life. With no debts, our health will be restored soon.
I am very grateful to Guan Yin Bodhisattva for bringing us such a wonderful Dharma door to earth. I will definitely follow Master Lu to study and recite Buddhist scriptures, to eliminate my karma and pay off my debts.

According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s ICSD-3 manual, insomnia is defined as “persistent difficulty with sleep initiation, duration, consolidation or quality [1].” Some conservative estimates show that 10% to 30% of adults live with chronic insomnia [2].
According to Sleep Foundation, insomnia is believed to originate due to a state of hyperarousal that can impact sleep-onset and sleep maintenance. Hyperarousal can be mental, physical, or a combination of both. Environmental, physiological, and psychological factors can all play a role in insomnia.
Doctors are currently not able to cure insomnia completely, particularly chronic insomnia. Sleeping pills pose a serious risk of physical dependence. Thus, this presentation may help people who are suffering insomnia.

学佛念经治愈了我十五年的失眠症

睡眠本来是一件无比幸福的事,但对我而言,却痛苦至极。
记得从2004年开始,我的睡眠就开始不好了。我经常躺下了一两个小时还没有睡着,还在闭着眼睛数绵羊。但是,那时我并没有太在意,也没有看医生。到了2010年,我已经是严重失眠了,一个晚上只能睡2到3个小时。有时,甚至快天亮了我才迷迷糊糊地睡着,只能睡1到2个小时。白天头昏脑胀,上班打瞌睡,身体状况也差了很多。
后来,失眠症越发严重,常常到了下半夜,我好不容易睡着了,突然好像有人用电来电击我。我惊叫着从床上蹦起来,喊着“不要碰我,不要碰我!”惊醒后,我全身冒冷汗,心跳快到像要掉出身体似的。之后,我就再也无法入睡了。最初,是十几天我被电击一次,后来发展到几天就被电击一次。
曾经有几次已经睡着了,我被吓得到从床上滚到床下。还有一次,我醒来后,像夜游症一样,半夜三更打开家门,跑到街上。如果不是女儿跑出去把我拉回家,我根本不知道发生了什么事。太恐怖了!我常常问苍天,我到底做错了什么,要遭受如此的痛苦?简直像生活在人间地狱,生不如死。
另外,我还患有心慌、心率快、头痛、肩周炎、颈椎炎等疾病。
我走上了寻医问诊的艰辛之路。一听说哪个医生好,我就立刻去。我走遍了广州大大小小的医院,中医、西医、神经科、针灸科,吃药,打针、理疗等等,什么方法我都用尽了,但是一点效果都没有。我也做过全身检查,但没有发现任何大问题,只有失眠引起的神经衰弱。我问医生,在梦里我有触电的感觉是怎么回事?医生摇头不相信,说我是长期失眠引起的幻想症,是一种幻觉。
难道我的余生就这样度过吗?女儿看到我茶饭不思,瘦成了一把骨头,就带我出去旅游,让我散散心。可没想到,当我在火车上和酒店里睡着的时候,我也同样有触电的感觉。我感到绝望了。
那时,我常常去寺庙拜佛,求菩萨让我的病快点好,快点康复。后来,认识了几位其它法门的佛友。她们告诉我,触电不是幻觉,是身上有灵性导致的。于是,我就不再跑医院了,开始学佛念经消业障。
由于没有明师的指点,我这里学学,那里学学。虽然我很用心地修了很多法门,但是效果不大。在2017年,我皈依了某教。师父教我念几部经文等。病情虽然有了一些改善和缓解,但没有彻底治愈,仍然时有发作。
2018年,我生命中的贵人出现了!有一天,我在某寺庙对面的佛具店上班时,认识了来店里采购素食的梁佛友。我们一见如故。我向她倾述了自己失眠的情况,她马上向我介绍了心灵法门,并且告诉我,通过运用三大法宝:许愿、念经、放生,一定可以彻底治愈我的失眠症。她还说用经文组合,可以超度我身上的灵性。遗憾的是,由于我之前经历过太多次失败的尝试,我没有信心修学。不过,我很喜欢听台长的法会开示,看台长的文章,觉得台长讲得很有道理。我也经常会跟着梁师兄一起去放生,但我一直没有按心灵法门的要求去念功课和经文组合。
直到3年后的2021年元旦,我才主动向梁师兄要求结缘空白的经文组合。感恩观世音菩萨慈悲加持让我佛缘成熟,我决心要试一下,给自己一个机会。
2021年1月12日我开始念经、念经文组合。我向观世音菩萨许愿:
1. 帮自己的要经者念21张经文组合。之后,我仍然是21张一拨一拨地念。到目前为止,我大约念了6拨;
2. 放生1200条鱼,每次放生几条,几十条,几百条不等(目前已经全部完成)。
现在,我又向观世音菩萨许愿给自己的要经者念诵63张经文组合,10月10日完成。
我刚刚开始念经,因为不熟悉经文,念得慢,要经者要得急。在2021年2月4号那一天晚上,我睡着的时候突然感到有东西骚扰我的身体,把我惊醒了。心里一直喊着观世音菩萨救救我,救救我。当烧送完第一拨21张经文组合后,我的睡眠开始有所改善。后来,我烧送了两拨经文组合超度我打胎的孩子。当烧送完第二拔后,人感觉很舒服,总想睡觉,而且睡眠的质量明显改善了。现在有时候,即使在深夜一点睡,我也可以一觉睡到大天亮;有时晚上十点睡下,半夜醒来上完洗手间,回来后还可以重新入睡;还有一次,我晚上八点多就睡着了,一觉睡到天大亮。
通过修学心灵法门半年来,睡觉触电的那种感觉只发生过五、六次,这是过去连做梦都没有想到的事,太法喜了。我学佛念经只有短短半年时间,困扰我十几年的严重失眠症居然就好转很多,真的是太神奇了!如今,又一个半年时间过去了,睡觉触电的那种感觉再也没有发生过。感恩大慈大悲观世音菩萨!感恩师父!也感恩带我走进心灵法门的梁师兄!
心灵法门四大法宝灵验殊胜!我很惭愧,当初我为什么不早点修习这个法门?害得自己白白多吃了三年的苦,而且差点和心灵法门失之交臂。
我希望通过这篇分享,劝告那些还在佛门外徘徊的有缘众生,赶紧捧起经书,学佛念经。不要等到灾难来时才病急乱投医,临时抱佛脚。心灵法门是末法时期非常殊胜的方便法门,通过许愿、放生、念经、学习《白话FF》四大法宝,让我们积累功德,消业还债,把往世和今世所欠的债还清。无债一身轻,身体恢复健康指日可待。
感恩观世音菩萨把这么殊胜的法门带到人间,感恩恩师慈父!我一定跟着师父好好学佛念经,消业还债。
再次感恩南无大慈大悲救苦救难广大灵感观世音菩萨摩诃萨!

根据美国睡眠医学学会公布的 ICSD-3 手册,失眠的定义是“睡眠的起始、持续、净睡眠时间或质量的一贯困难 [1]”。一些保守的估计表明,10% 到 30% 的成年人患有慢性失眠症 [2]。
根据睡眠基金会的说法,失眠是由于过度过度兴奋导致的。这种状态会影响入睡和睡眠维持。过度兴奋可以是精神上的、身体上的或两者兼而有之。环境、生理和心理因素都可以在失眠中发挥作用。
