I could see the spiritual world before 9. However, my parents didn’t believe in children’s words and always said I was talking nonsense. Every evening was the worst time for me. I saw spirits and they looked at me. They looked scary and didn’t speak. I told my parents, and I got beaten. It was too painful for a little girl.
I couldn’t concentrate and had unexplained nosebleeds at school every day. Sometimes I see spirits when it is cloudy and raining. One afternoon when it was cloudy and about to rain, I observed a spirit in a raincoat come to my home. I couldn’t see its face. It walked straight into the kitchen and stayed in the living room all afternoon without moving. I couldn’t help it. When my mother came home from work I told her. I was chastised again. My childhood came and ended with no one understanding what I saw and no one could answer what I saw.
By the time I got into college for my freshman year, that winter night in my eight-person dorm room, in my sleep I heard someone whispering my name in my ear, over and over. I woke up startled. Since I was a child, my parents have emphasized many times that I should never say yes when someone calls my name at night. So I did not say “yes”. The spirit was still calling me. I couldn’t sleep. I was so scared I ran to sleep in the other girl’s bed for the night. The next day it happened again, with a man’s voice. I ran to the other girl’s bed for another night. I told my parents when the torture became too much. However, my parents still didn’t believe me and said I was too tired. In this way, I spent a week in fear and anxiety. In the end, the girl in the same dormitory didn’t understand me either. I had to go back to my own bed.
In the evening I was called again. I had the audacity to say to them, “I won’t say yes to whatever you call me.” As a result, I heard so many spirits and child spirits saying, “Go away go away, we’ll talk about it later!”
But now, my mother, my mother-in-law, and my sister are all reciting Little House. Everyone gains benefits from Buddhist practices.
