Hello everyone! I am Buddhist practitioner Shuyi. Today, I would like to share an extraordinary experience that occurred with my father after he started practicing Buddhism. The title is: “My Father’s Lipoma That Was Supposed to Be Surgically Removed Miraculously vanished under the Blessings of the Bodhisattva”
In 2024, my elderly father was 88 years old. He has been practicing Buddhism and reciting Buddhist scriptures for 4 years now.
In early 2021, a small, hard lump the size of a soybean appeared on the back of my father’s right hand. It wasn’t painful or itchy. I purchased a special ointment online for treating lipomas and instructed him to apply it several times a day, rubbing it in as he did so. The instructions claimed that the ointment could heal the lipoma and make it disappear. However, after he had been applying it for some time, the lipoma not only remained but also began to grow slowly.
About a month before the Spring Festival in 2022, the lipoma on my father’s hand had grown to 3.8cm x 2.8cm in size. I took him to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment. The surgeon suggested surgery. Since the lipoma was located on a part of the hand with rich blood vessels, making the operation challenging. The surgeon advised him to undergo comprehensive examinations at a major hospital before proceeding with the surgery. Given the special time period (Editor’s note: the author may indicate the special time period for “COVID-19 pandemic”), with Spring Festival approaching in just over a month, we all hoped he could undergo the surgery before the holiday. He was also anxious about it. The next morning, during the early morning prayer session, he extended the hand with the lipoma towards the Guan Yin Bodhisattva in front of the Buddhist altar, praying for the compassionate blessings of Bodhisattva.
Guan Yin Bodhisattva is truly compassionate and responsive! The next morning, as my father was preparing to boil water, he suddenly felt a cool sensation on the back of his hand. Upon closer inspection, he noticed thick, white, paste-like fluid flowing out from a small hole where the lipoma had been. Before long, the hard lump measuring 3.8cm x 2.8cm had disappeared completely. The raised skin had also flattened. My father was overjoyed, continuously expressing his gratitude, saying, “Gratitude to Guan Yin Bodhisattva! Gratitude to Guan Yin Bodhisattva!” Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s blessings spared my father from the pain of surgery, allowing his lipoma to heal miraculously! The Bodhisattva’s compassion knows no bounds!
The powers of Buddha are unlimited, and Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are the great healers! With sincere hearts, miracles happen; as long as we practice genuinely and diligently, the Bodhisattvas will bless and protect us, arranging everything for us and making our wishes come true!
If my father hadn’t practiced Buddhism and recited Buddhist scriptures, the hard lipoma on his hand would inevitably have required surgical removal at the hospital. It would have cost money and caused him suffering. Through this miraculous experience, my father’s faith has become even stronger, and he has become more diligent in his Buddhist practice.
On January 18, 2024 (the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month), the day of Buddha Shakyamuni’s Enlightenment, my father made a vow in front of the Buddhist altar to Guan Yin Bodhisattva: “Within one year, I will recite and burn 1,000 Little Houses for my karmic creditors and release 12,000 fish.”
Now, my father diligently performs his daily recitations and is able to recite 3 Little Houses every day.
If he hadn’t encountered the Buddha’s teachings and hadn’t practiced Buddhism and recited Buddhist scriptures in this lifetime, my father, who was 84 years old in 2020, might not have been able to overcome his major calamity and might have passed away. Please refer to my presentation titled:“Stubborn skin disease recovered via Three Great Dharma Gems”[1].
I hope everyone can learn from my father’s experience [1]. If you make a vow to be vegetarian for life, you must adhere to it and not break your vow! The consequences of breaking such a vow can be particularly severe! After this life-threatening ordeal, my father now firmly believes in Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, believes in Guan Yin Bodhisattva, believes in benevolent Master Lu. He tells everyone that his life now is a gift from the Bodhisattva!
Gratitude to Namo Sakyamuni Buddha! Gratitude to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva! Gratitude to our great benevolent Master for imparting such a profoundly efficacious Dharma Door to us suffering sentient beings, enabling us all to transcend suffering and attain happiness!
I hope that more sentient beings having affinity with Buddha will, after seeing or hearing my sharing, pick up Buddhist scriptures, practice Buddhism, recite scriptures, release animals, adopt a vegetarian diet, cultivate their minds, and self-awaken and awaken others!
If there is anything that is not rational or in line with the truth in the presentation, I pray for forgiveness from Namo Sakyamuni Buddha, the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and Dharma protectors.

Note 1. About the Issue of Age and Calamity — Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door Q & A 139， 2012-01-28
Question 139: Master, at what ages are the calamity? Is it the same for everyone?
Answer 139: Generally speaking, the calamity usually occurs at the unit digit of the age of 3, 6, or 9. For example, 19, 29, 33, 39, 49, 59, 66, 73, 84, 89, and so on.
– For individuals aged >50, if the two digits of the age are the same, it is also considered a calamity, such as 55, 66, 77, 88, 99, all of which are considered calamities.
– Each person also has their uniqueness, and it cannot be generalized, but when reaching the aforementioned ages, everyone needs to pay extra attention.
– All calamities refer to the actual age.
– When encountering a significant calamity, it is advisable to recite the Xiao Zai Ji Xiang Shen Zhou extensively. It should be recited 108 times every day without fail; otherwise, the calamities may not be dispelled.
– During 369 calamity, one can begin reciting the Xiao Zai Ji Xiang Shen Zhou 3 months before their birthday, reciting it 3 sessions with 49-108 times per session. One session should be treated as a daily recitation, while the other 2 sessions can be recited as self-cultivation. For self-cultivation recitations, one can use smaller sheets of the Xiao Zai Ji Xiang Shen Zhou reciting 272 times on each sheet. These sheets can be stored and burned altogether on the birthday combined with the Little Houses. Pray Guan Yin Bodhisattva to dissolve the calamity and resolve difficulties.
– At the same time, one can also make vows to recite a set number of Little Houses corresponding to your age. For example, if you are 33 years old, you can make a vow to recite at least 33 Little Houses for your karmic creditors. If you are 21 years old or younger and your age unit digit is 3, 6, or 9, you can recite 21 Little Houses. In praying for this matter, you can say, “May the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva compassionately bless me to resolve the karma of my Nth year.” It’s best to start reciting and burning the Little Houses at least 3 months before your birthday and continue until your birthday. For larger calamities, sometimes these Little Houses may not be sufficient, so it’s necessary to persistently recite and burn more Little Houses to resolve the major calamity. Even after your birthday, it’s important to continue reciting and burning Little Houses for the following 3 months.
– If one knows it’s a relatively big calamity, they can make a vow to recite 108 Little Houses. For a particularly major calamity, one should recite 3 sets of 108 Little Houses. Offer respectfully: “Karmic Creditor of [Your Name].”
– It’s important to continue strengthening one’s daily practice, diligently reciting Little Houses, and combining it with releasing more animals and making vows.
– During one’s zodiac year, it’s also advisable to recite the same number of Little Houses as one’s age using this method.
Note 2. Breaking the vow of being vegetarian will incur punishment from Dharma protectors
Male Listener: Master, some fellow practitioners made a vow to be strictly vegetarian, but due to certain circumstances, such as returning to their home country, they changed their minds and decided to eat vegetarian diet only a few days each month. Could Master please enlighten us? Will they incur punishment from the Dharma protectors for doing so?
Master Lu: Yes, they definitely will. There will be trouble with any backtracking. Will Dharma protectors bless any progress?
Male Listener: Hmm.
Master Lu: So, if you have received blessings and then backtrack, do you think you should return them?
Male Listener: Yes.
Master Lu: Alright. For example, if you originally told the bank, “I will do this and that… I will borrow money,” but then you gradually don’t repay it. Won’t the penalties come?
Male Listener: Yes, Master.
Master Lu: Alright. Because when you take something from others, when you borrow money from others, although you pay interest, you have achieved what you want. It’s like that.
Male Listener: Okay.

大家好！我是舒奕同修。今天我来分享一下我父亲学佛后发生在他身上的灵验事例。题目是：菩萨保佑，让父亲本该做手术去除的脂肪瘤神奇地“流”掉了
2024年，我的老父亲88岁。他学佛念经至今已经四年了。
2021年年初，父亲的右手背上长出了一个质地很硬的黄豆粒大小的脂肪瘤，不疼也不痒。我在网上买了专门治疗脂肪瘤的药膏，嘱咐父亲每天涂抹几次，要一边涂抹一边揉。说明书上介绍说该药膏可以治好脂肪瘤并让其消失。可是，父亲涂抹了一段时间后，脂肪瘤不但没有消失，反而在慢慢长大……
到了2022年春节前一个多月时，父亲手部的脂肪瘤已经长到长3.8cm x 2.8cm了。我带着父亲去医院诊治，外科医生说需要开刀。手背上血管丰富，手术难度大，医生建议我们到大医院做全面检查后再开刀。时逢特殊时期，而且还有一个多月就要过春节了，我们都希望父亲能在春节前做手术。父亲也很着急，第二天上早香时，他把长有脂肪瘤的手背伸在佛台前请观世音菩萨观看，祈求观世音菩萨慈悲保佑。
观世音菩萨真是大慈大悲、有求必应啊！第二天一大早，老父亲正拿着水壶准备烧水，突然感觉手背上凉飕飕的。他低头一看，手背上脂肪瘤的部位由一个小孔里流出了白色糊状的浓稠液体。不一会儿，3.8cm x 2.8cm的硬疙瘩就消失了。原来凸起的皮肤也瘪下来了。父亲非常开心，心里不停地念着:“感恩观世音菩萨！感恩观世音菩萨！”观世音菩萨保佑父亲免去了做手术的痛苦，让他的脂肪瘤不治而愈了！菩萨真是太慈悲了！
佛法无边，佛菩萨就是大医王！心诚则灵，只要我们真修实修，菩萨就会加持、护佑我们，为我们安排好一切，让我们心想事成！
如果父亲没有学佛念经，手背上坚硬的脂肪瘤免不了要去医院开刀做手术。既要花钱，人还要遭罪受苦。通过这次的灵验事例，父亲更加坚定了信心，学佛更加努力精进了。
2024年1月18日（腊月初八）释迦牟尼佛成道日那天，父亲在佛台前向观世音菩萨许愿:“在一年之内为自己的要经者烧送1000张经文组合，放生12000条鱼”。
现在，父亲每天坚持做功课，还能念诵三张经文组合。
如果今生没有闻到佛法，没有学佛念经，2020年，父亲84岁【备注1】的大劫可能就过不去，走人了……
之前，我曾分享过父亲在2019年年底，因患罕见的皮肤病，业障大爆发而被佛菩萨救度的灵验事例。回想起那几年，我们到处求医问药，花了几万元也没有治好父亲严重的皮肤病。我知道只有让父亲学佛念经，许愿吃全素才可以治好他的皮肤顽症。父亲曾经无肉不欢。2019年年底，由于情况紧急，在我的“逼迫”和“恐吓”下，父亲终于许愿吃全素，学佛念经了。
虽然他已经许愿终身吃全素，但是当时父亲对佛法是半信半疑的，也没有意识到违愿的严重性。父亲的生日在1月份，大约在2020年4月（生日的后3个月），他“偷吃”了两次肉馄饨，由此酿下了大祸——违愿吃荤！加上父亲正值84岁的大关劫，在5月份，父亲又一次业障大爆发——整整三个月，他不能吃也不能喝，吃什么吐什么，人瘦成了皮包骨头，不能走路，只能躺在床上。父亲自知命不久矣……就在如此危急的时刻，我运用法门的三大法宝：念经、许愿和放生，菩萨慈悲保佑他，不但挽救了父亲的生命，也救了他的慧命！
希望大家以我的父亲为戒，如果许愿了终身吃全素，就要坚持做到，不能违愿【备注2】！违愿的后果特别严重！经过这次的生死大劫后，父亲现在非常坚信心灵法门，坚信观世音菩萨，坚信恩师慈父，他逢人就说现在自己的这条命就是菩萨给的！
非常感恩南无释迦牟尼佛！感恩大慈大悲救苦救难广大灵感观世音菩萨摩诃萨！感恩我们伟大的恩师慈父把这么殊胜灵验的法门传授给我们这些苦难众生，让我们都能离苦得乐！

【备注1】139、关于岁数和关的问题——《心灵法门佛学问答一百三十九》2012-01-28
问139：请问台长，人在多少岁是关？每个人都一样吗？
答139：从普遍上来说，一般逢三、六、九都是关口，比如19岁、29岁、33岁、39岁、49岁、59岁、66岁、73岁、84岁、89岁等。
50岁以上岁数有两个数字重复的话，也是一个劫，比如55岁、66岁、77岁、88岁、99岁，都算劫。
每个人也有其特殊性，不可一概而论，但逢以上岁数，每个人都需要格外注意。
所有的关都是指实足年龄。
一般遇到命中很大的“关”，要多念《消灾吉祥神咒》，每天要念108遍，天天要念，否则消不了灾。
一般遇到三、六、九关劫的时候，可以在生日前三个月开始每天念诵3拨的49-108遍《消灾吉祥神咒》，其中一拨作为功课，另外两拨可以点到自修经文上，可以采用每张272遍的小张的《消灾吉祥神咒》自修经文，将这些自修经文储存起来，可以在生日当天，配合小房子，将所有的自修经文一起烧掉，求观世音菩萨化解关劫，消灾解难。
同时可以许愿念一拨和自己年龄相同数量的小房子。比如33岁，可以许愿念诵至少33张小房子给自己的要经者。如果是21岁及以下的三、六、九年龄，都可以念21张。针对这个事情祈求，“请大慈大悲观世音菩萨慈悲保佑我XXX化解N岁这个关。”最好在生日前三个月之前就要提前开始念诵烧送，并且直至生日当天烧完。对于较大的劫数，有时候这些小房子也是远远不够的，就需要一直坚持念诵烧送小房子化解这个大关。并且在过了生日的后三个月，也还是需要继续坚持多多念诵小房子。
如果明知是比较大的劫数，可以许愿念诵108张小房子。如果是特别大的劫数则要念诵3个108张小房子。敬赠：“某某某”的要经者。“某某某”为自己的名字。
平时还是要加强功课，勤念小房子，结合多放生、许愿。
本命年最好也要按照此方法念诵和岁数相同数量的小房子。

男听众：师父，有的同修许了大愿吃全素，不过因为一些事情，比如说回国啊什么的，又反悔了，改成每个月吃素几天了。请师父开示一下，他们这样做的话会受到护法神的惩罚吗？
台长答：会，绝对会的。任何事情退转都会有一些麻烦。任何事情进步护法神会不会保佑？
男听众：嗯。
台长答：那么你拿着人家保佑了，你自己又退转了，你说要不要退还啊？
男听众：会。
台长答：好了。比方说，你本来跟银行说“我怎么怎么……我借钱”。你后来慢慢地还不出来，是不是罚金要来了？
男听众：是的，师父。
台长答：好了，因为你拿人家的时候，你借人家钱的时候，虽然你付了利息，但是这个事情你是自己完全得到了啊。就是这样的。
男听众：好的。
